Staff/AR Accountant

The Staff/AR Accountant, reporting to the VP, Finance, is responsible for day to day accounting activities of the company. In particular, the Staff/AR Accountant will work with the Finance, Sales and Client Service teams to provide on-going management of Flowhub’s billing, receivables, collections and revenue operations. Key systems that the Staff/AR Accountant will leverage include Salesforce, Zuora and QuickBooks. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced startup environment.   • Review customer orders in Salesforce for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable process from initial order acceptance, through to subscription creation, invoicing and collections
  • Ensure that revenue is recognized correctly, perform deferred revenue GL entries
  • Work with sales department on customer accounts, invoicing inquiries and issues
  • Interact with customers to accurately identify, analyze and resolve billing issues in a timely manner
  • Manage ACH bank deposits
  • Contact slow-paying customers to collect payments and manage the AR aging
  • Ensure that AR processes are completed on time to meet the monthly close deadlines
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to assist with the month end close
  • Calculate monthly sales and use tax
  • Year-end 1099 tax filings
  • Update financial forecast with actual results
  • Analyze, improve and automate current subscription billing and revenue solutions, initially based in Zuora billing, Salesforce and QuickBooks Learn customer billing process to be a back-up as needed
  • Identify process improvements

  • Participate in Annual Audit
  • Create documentation for job duties

This position demands a high-level understanding of process and procedures that drive a successful organization.
  • BS or BA degree in Accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • 3- 5 years of experience in accounting
  • QuickBooks knowledge and/or familiarity with other accounting systems
  • Experience with Salesforce and Zuora (or other SaaS subscription management tool) extremely helpful
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
